About

THE HACIENDA

Hacienda Sarapampa is a family-owned business and for three generations we have been working the land since 1937. We offer our visitors the opportunity to have a unique cultural experience around traditions associated with corn production practices in an authentic and natural environment.

The Giant

WHITE CUSCO CORN!

The culture around production of this type of corn has been linked to daily life in the Sacred Valley since early times. The variety grown is the Giant White Corn, a unique variety in the world due to its exceptional characteristics and size. Domesticated since Inca times, this corn has been adapted to the unique conditions of this valley in such way that it only grows here, beign awarded the Denomination of Origin (DO) badge in 2005 because of this.

Farm

Sustainable

FARMING PRACTICES

Hacienda Sarapampa is a 40 hectare (100 acre) farm. Before 2010, 100 percent of its cultivable land was dedicated to monoculture. By 2020, 10% has been already transformed into conservation areas, reintroducing endemic species of trees and bushes, and building ponds to allow amphibians and local birds to thrive. By 2030 we expect to devote 20% of our land to conservation; not only because it is the right thing to do, but because we understand now that biodiversity is key to obtain better yields by creating a healthy environment around our cash crops.
