Hacienda Sarapampa wants to share the experience of Giant White Corn production and show you why it is so special. You will learn about the origin of this special variety and show how farming was practiced during pre-Columbian and colonial times, from cultivation to trade in international markets.
Giant White Cusco corn has transformed the local economy over the last 70 years, and each year is a new challenge for farmers who are dedicated to its production. Some of the challenges include climate change, intensive farming, and finding communion between old agricultural traditions and new technologies.
The Giant White Corn is a legacy that is ours by right. We feel a deep responsibility to preserve and seek its continuous improvement for future generations of farmers.
