“Unexpected Farm to Table goodness in Valle Sagrado!”

Learned about Inca corn and harvest and they export snacks to Trader Joe’s ( which we found, when we came back home).
Hospitable. Family owned. Warm welcome.
Scrumptious Lunch started with soup and salad followed by dish made with Alpaca meat and Andean trout prepared delicately.
House made Ice cream topped it off.
Pleasantly surprised by farm to table jewel in the middle of the Andes.
This was a great start in our Peruvian adventures.

"A Visit Filled With Fine Food & Hospitality!"

We were taken by surprise to learn that the Giant White Corn grown at Hacienda Sarapampa is the main ingredient for Trader Joe’s Giant Peruvian Inca Corn snack that we’ve been addicted to for a while.

Our visit was wonderful! We arrived at the family run Hacienda, for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed a gourmet 3 course meal. My main course was Alpaca Steak and my wife had the Trout. Everything we ate was prepared with love and perfectly presented.

After lunch Yussef Sumar, I believe, the 2nd generation proprietor of the Hacienda, showed us a display of corn memorabilia which offers a small history of its evolution. We then saw the Guinea Pig room where this Peruvian delicacy is kept in perfect conditions.

We then toured the grounds with Yussef, a proud and accomplished farmer who deserves to be because, what we witnessed in the Sacred Valley of Peru was very technologically advanced farming. We saw the corn already husked and drying in the fields. It made for a beautiful yellow contrast to surrounding landscape of the valley and mountains.

All in all, our visit was exemplary and memorable. Now that we’ve essentially witnessed the Farm to Table of both the food we ate there as well as the Corn Snack that we’re addicted to at home, we know that we’re fans for life.

“A Highlight of our Trip to the Sacred Valley!!”

Our afternoon at Sarapampa was an absolute highlight of our trip to the Sacred Valley! The hacienda and the farm are absolutely gorgeous, and our hosts were warm and welcoming.
Our visit started with a Paso Horse demonstration of a traditional Peruvian dance. It was both charming and beautiful, and we were able to ride the Paso horse briefly afterwards which was a very unique experience!
Our 7 course lunch was absolutely delicious. The vegetarian ceviche, trout, alpaca and white corn ice cream were stand outs!
Our tour of the farm after lunch was fascinating - the guinea pig house and fields that grow the largest corn you've ever seen! It was fun to learn that the corn grown there is used to make "Inca Corn" sold at Trader Joe's! I've already been to the store to buy some!
I would highly recommend an afternoon Sarapampa as part of your visit to the Sacred Valley.

"Stunning for all senses"

We first enjoyed a three course meal on the terrace. A tiny bit chilly, but we enjoyed the nature and serenity after the hectic and busy streets of Pisac. The table is beautifully decorated. Tremendously attentive and not intrusive staff. The meal uses local ingredients, many not known to us or not in this combination, but the result is nothing short of stunning. We are eating in a lot of restaurants decorated with stars and points in Europe and elsewhere but this was the best And most creative I have eaten in a long time!
Combined with the information on the giant corn and farm life in the Sacred Valley, this is an experience not to miss. Even our teenage daughter was fascinated.
